Bio

Zander Hamm is a visual artist and educator based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2022 with a BFA, majoring in hot glass, and from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a degree in professional cooking in 2012. He is currently a candidate for a BEd from the University of Calgary in 2024. Zander’s practice engages with how he functions through his day-to-day life—focusing on banal phenomenology that represents his lived experiences. His glasswork explores traditional cold-working techniques and idiosyncratic vessel-making. He has a keen sense of curiosity that acts to inform his educative practice.
