TQS 5: Applying Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit
My explorations into art are bound to my location and personal being. Through making and engaging with my locale, I have come to appreciate the interconnectedness that I and we share with the world around us. Through making I support student achievement by engaging in collaborative, whole school approaches to capacity building in First Nations, Métis and Inuit education. Moreover, using the programs of study, I provide opportunities for all students to develop a knowledge and understanding of, and respect for, their histories, cultures, languages, contributions, perspectives, experiences and contemporary contexts.
This gallery is a series of images that I am continuing, entailing a dedication to walking practice. Inspired by the writings of Dwayne Donald, I engage with walking as a form of pedagogy in which all beings rebound upon the surface of the earth. These images are mere impressions of space and time upon which my young feet have travelled, intending to travel in a good way.
